Teijin presents new smart textile innovations at China Composites Expo in Shanghai

The Teijin Group has presented its new innovations in smart textiles at the China Composites Expo 2012, which took place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in Shanghai from 5 to 7 September 2012, reported Innovation in Textiles. The company amongst others presented new innovative concepts for carbon and aramid fiber reinforced composites and advanced applications of carbon fiber reinforced plastics, for example smart phones and tablet casings made with ulta-lightweight carbon fiber fabrics. Two filament yarns were introduced, Twaron Black and Technora Black, versions of high-modulus para-aramid fibers for applications requiring strength, weight-reduction and beauty, such as mobile phone casings, boat sails, and sporting goods. Teijin is a technology-driven global group with approximately 150 companies and around 17,000 employees in 20 countries worldwide.
