We invite all international press journalists to meet us on central booth JET EXPO ORGANISATION on Monday 6th April from 10 to 12 a.m. We will give you any information and program to facilitate your visit in Paris and to meet the manufacturers or to have personal contacts with French associations, or company visits.
The French market
Laundry and textile rental market:
- about 500 hospital laundries from 500 kg to 25 tons a day
- 600 private laundries (hotels, restaurants, private hospital, industry etc)
- 500 laundries in associations for handicap workers. ESAT are medico-social associations. EA are business societies.
- 11 000 nursery homes.
- 7 textile rental groups (82% of the French market)
(Reference: French market about laundry and textile rental activities, study 2008).
Dry cleaning market:
Dry cleaning French market is worth about 751 million Euros :
- 64% for dry cleaning only
- 14% for coin-operated laundry
- 22% for washing garments (little laundries in town centre)
(Reference: French dry cleaning market Study 2008)
We count about 8500 companies but only 4900 dry cleaning companies (5500 shops) for an average turnover about 90 000 euros (2006).
11% of all Companies represent 56% of the global turnover, and 40% of the little owners represent only 17% of the global turnover. The difference between big and little dry cleaning operators is increasing every year.
After a governmental campaign to verify the compliance of the dry cleaning shops concerning European requirements, the results published at the end of December show that 68% of the shops are not strictly in compliance. 29% received a legal statement and are obliged to change their dry cleaning machine and add a ventilation system within a short delay or have to close the shop.
These reasons explain why JET EXPO will be a very important place to meet manufacturers and their distributors.
